Appalachian Trail, Carver’s Gap, TN in Pisgah-Cherokee National Forest

Between two states…

This section of the Appalachian Trail winds along the border between two states. Looking to the southeast, you see the mountains of North Carolina; and to the northwest, the mountains of Tennessee. In both directions, it’s beautiful.

The subtle layers of mountains fading into greens and blues and grays - spectacular.
