Hosta in my backyard, Kansas City, MO

Summer…

I’ve been working to have something blooming at all times through the spring, summer, and fall. Spring is going well for me, so next year I will focus on summer blooms. But the hosta come through every year in the heat of summer. Free plants shared by my neighbor, willing to grow in the shade, not seeming to mind the pesky dogs trotting through and occasionally peeing on them. Hearty, beautiful hostas!

It’s a little hard to get up as close as I’d like with just a phone camera - even though they do so many things amazingly well. I’ll have to keep looking for some sort of lens adapter to get better micro shots!
